Gem Identification GIA Polariscope
The GIA Polariscope is used to test the optical properties of gemstones and determine whether a stone is singly refractive, doubly refractive or is an aggregate. Doubly refractive stones may be divided further as to whether they are uniaxial or biaxial. The polariscope may also be used to detect pleochroism in doubly refractive colored stones. Diamond cutters use the polariscope to determine the strain characteristics of diamonds. - Includes an optic figure sphere, removable 4x magnifier, removable sample plate
- The GIA Polariscope is designed to also provide LED white light source for the GIA Refractometer (not shown)
- Universal 90V - 240V for global electrical compatibility, includes universal plug adaptor

Gem Identification GIA DiamondCheck™
DiamondCheck ™GIA DiamondCheck ™ is intended to examine colorless stones in the D-to-N range. It identifies natural, untreated diamonds and refers for further analysis of stones that may be treated or laboratory-grown. - GIA DiamondCheck is based on the same technology and processes used at GIA. It can identify natural, untreated diamonds and refer for further analysis of diamonds that may be treated or laboratory-grown.
- Drawing on GIA's decades of research in the identification of laboratory-grown and treated diamonds, the system consists of a commercially-available spectroscopic instrument operating with GIA-developed software for automatic data interpretation.
- Examine one unmounted stone at a time, from 1 point to 10 carats. When used as indicated, GIA DiamondCheck will refer 100% of all colorless laboratory-grown stones in the D-to-N range.
- The examined stone receives one of three results: natural diamond; diamond but requires further testing for treatments or because it may be laboratory-grown; non-diamond material such as moissanite or cubic zirconia (material type is not specified).
Usually ships in 1 business day. SKU: 215000
